Woke up on Lake Crescent to a crisp and beautiful morning. Great breakfast. Packed lunches for our picnic today and Gabriel, Dave and David made fresh salsa for later.
We just finished getting a most excellent and informative presentation about the restoration of the Elwha River after the dams are removed. All of the tours have been consistently good. Equally impressive are the quality of questions the kids are asking. The various presenters have all commented on the knowledge level of the kids. All are well here and having a great time. Someone has whipped out a guitar on the bus here. I think we're about to have a sing-along.
Had the most incredible dinner of baked potatoes, fresh spinach and chard from Nash Farms ( thank you, Nash), beans and fruit. The ravenous kids were so happy! Our chuckwagon team rules.

Last night we stayed at Camp David Junior on magnificent Lake Crescent. Everyone stayed dry. Promise.

After a terrific lesson about the legend of Sol Duc and lichen in the area, the kids set off on a hike/scavenger hunt. Then... cool and hot pools.

After our beautiful hike through the rain forest we had stinky fun at the hot springs. (sulphur)

A beautiful setting and start to the trip.
